Forth of July weekend, the restaurant was full the tap area was completely empty and still could not be seated. They went over to a Tapas menu. Hey get a clue not in Speculator. You just wasted the biggest weekend up here. At least five dinner parties left , you just wasted at least $1000.00. No wonder why you can't hire enough people. Go by the old adage, " If it ain't broke don't fix it." Your gonna run the place into the ground. Go back to the regular menu please in the Tap room.
My family has been coming here for years and are never disappointed. Great gourmet food, atmosphere, and view! I'd recommend a reservation since they can get busy in peak season
Melody Lodge is one of the great spots in Speculator. It is a versatile venue. One room has a bar that seems perfect for beers with the boys after a day of watersports in summer or snowmobiling/skiing in winter. The other rooms feel perfect for celebrating an engagement with dinner and champagne. I have never had a negative experience here. One time we had to wait a few minutes for a table, but it was so nice on the couches by the fireplace that I would have happily waited twice as long. This is always a great place for dinner. It is open all year long and it never disappoints. Service is friendly and with a smile and they kinda make you feel like family.
We live in PA but go to the Melody Lodge every summer while visiting family. Dinner is almost always delicious, and we love the view so much that we always take a family photo on the front porch. This past visit the Steak By George (a perennial favorite!) was a little tough and overcooked, but still tasted good and somehow was even better the next day. The crab cakes, Mediterranean board, and Buffalo shrimp appetizers were fantastic, and salads, bread, and carrots were tasty as always. I highly recommend dining here!
With the excellent food, well-crafted cocktails or microbrew on tap, and the views... How could you go wrong? Will be back again!
